2 night of racing Wednesday, June
16 at Orange County Fair Speedway in
Middletown, New York.
Fans, be ready to hold your breath as the
daredevil Freestyle Motocross riders defy
gravity as they fly up to 75 feet in the air
performing stunts like the Double Grab, the
Cliff Hanger, Super Man, and the Kiss of
Death.
These world class freestyle exhibitionists
have wowed crowds throughout North, Central,
and South America. Now they’re coming to

A standalone
Extreme
Motorcycle Stunt Show commands
tickets prices of $25 or more just to see
the jumpers, but it’s all included along
with the full
Super
DIRTcar Modified Series race meet
ticket. It’s not too late to get your ticket
and at a reduced price.
Fans buying
their Big Show 2 tickets online in advance
will receive a $4.00 discount from the
day-of-the-race $27 covered grandstand
reserved seat or the $22 general admission.
Online discount ticket sales will continue
until 6:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15. All
tickets for children under 12 are $5.00.
Tickets for the unique Orange County Fair
Speedway Drive-In section are general
admission and may be purchased online at the
discounted price. Tickets will be picked up
on race day at the Will Call booth.
Spectator gates for
The Big Show
2 Super DIRTcar Modified Series
race meet at Orange County Fair Speedway,
Wednesday, June 16, will open at 4:00 PM.
For fans choosing to view the races from the
unique Orange County Drive-In section, gates
will also open at 4:00 PM. Drive-In spaces
will be on a first-come basis. All fans are
encouraged to come out early and enjoy the
attractions on the Fairgrounds’ Midway area.
The Big Show
2,
a one-division racing program for the
big-block DIRTcar Modifieds, will include
time trials, qualifying heat and consolation
races, and a B-main for non-qualified cars
paying $2,000-to-win or 13th
starting spot in the 100-lap feature race.
The Big
Show 2 feature will pay the
winner at least $6,000 and with lap prize
money, considerably more.

pitting the top-ten drivers in Super DIRTcar
Modified Series points adds a new twist to the
already jammed-pack night of motorsports
excitement at
The Big Show 2,
Wednesday, June 16 at Orange County Fair
Speedway in Middletown, New York.

in nearby Vernon, New Jersey, the winner of the
one-on-one elimination will take home a $500
bonus prize.
Beginning
with the ninth and tenth driver in Super DIRTcar
Series points, the event consists of a series of
one-lap sprints around the big Orange County
five-eighths-mile clay track between two
competitors. The winner goes on to the next
round against a new challenger while to loser
goes back to the pits. The last driver not
eliminated is the race winner of the money and
bragging rights.
The Big Show 2
is a one-division racing meet for the big-block
DIRTcar Modifieds and is also a Super DIRTcar
Modified Series event. In addition to the

track until 7:00 pm, fans are encouraged to come
early to The
Big Show 2, Wednesday, June 16 at
Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, New
York. Spectator gates---both on the grandstand
side and the unique Orange County Drive-In
area---will open at 4:00 pm and Midway
activities will get underway almost immediately.
Several
souvenir trailers will have a wide variety of
motorsports wearing apparel, diecast models, and
other racing memorabilia for sale. The famous
Orange County refreshment stands will be open,
including a special Happy Hour from 4-6:00 pm at
“The 31st
Lap” hosted by
Bud Light
and Lime.
And from 5-5:45 pm, fans can meet the top
DIRTcar and Orange County Modified drivers as
well as event Grand Marshall Fox-TV pit reporter
Dick Berggren.
A special
edition of

SPECIAL AWARDS
ADD SPICE, CASH TO THE BIG SHOW 2
SUSSEX, NJ (May 19)…….. The list of special
awards to be distributed to top drivers during
The Big Show
2 at Orange County Fair Speedway on
Wednesday, June 16 grows with each passing day.
Earlier, it was announced that the lap prize
money had been fully subscribed. Since then
VP Racing Fuels
has come on board with a $250 bonus to the
leader at the halfway mark of the 100-lap
feature race.
That’s just one of several additional cash
awards waiting to be earned. Each heat race
winner will take home $100 bonus ($50 cash and a
$50 gift certificate) compliments of
Dave’s Racing
Collectibles and
Behrent’s
Performance Warehouse.
Added to this year’s race meet is a one-on-one
elimination race involving the top-ten drivers
in Super DIRTcar Modified Series points. Popular
with fans, the one-on-one elimination race pits
drivers in a one-lap dash with winner going on
to the next round and the loser eliminated.
Racing continues until only a single undefeated
driver is left. The winner---the last man
standing---will add $500 to his night’s earnings
compliments of
Teo Fabrications.
Several area speedways have posted prize money
to encourage their drivers to enter The Big Show
2. New Egypt
Speedway,
Orange County
Fair Speedway,
Accord Speedway,
Fonda
Speedway, and
Lebanon Valley
Speedway each will award $250 to
their highest finishing weekly competitor.
“We’re not done yet,” says race organizer Brett
Hearn. “We’re after some additional cash prizes
and we’re working on a list of product awards,
including some for the fans, to add even more
incentive to be a part of this special night of
racing

fail to qualify, the one-on-one elimination
race, and the 100-lap Super DIRTcar Series

The winner of the non-qualifiers’ B-main has a

reporter Dick
Berggren has been named the Grand
Marshall for
The Big Show II, the Super DIRTcar
Modified Series race to be held Wednesday, June
16 at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown,
New York. The announcement was made today by
race organizer Brett Hearn. “It’s a real honor
to have Dick a part of our program,” said Hearn.
“Even though most folks know him from his NASCAR
television work, he’s always been a strong
supporter of local and regional short track
racing.”
The long-time editor of
Stock Car Racing
magazine and founder and former editor of two
other racing publications,
Open Wheel
and Speedway
Illustrated, Berggren is no stranger
to short track racing. As a driver, he’s
competed on both dirt and asphalt-surfaced
speedways in Modifieds, supermodifieds, and
sprint cars.
Berggren, now the lead pit reporter for Fox’s
NASCAR Sprint Cup telecasts and frequently in
the same capacity on Speed auto racing coverage,
began his television work 30 years ago with the
then fledgling ESPN. Berggren has also covered
motorsports for CBS, TBS, the former TNN, and
DIRT-TV.

Modified feature race paying at least $6,000 to
the winner, is part of the Super DIRTcar
Modified Series, a summer-long series of
championship races across the Northeast and
neighboring Canada. Orange County Fair Speedway,
one of the country’s oldest auto race venues, is
a five-eighths-mile hard clay-surfaced track
that has hosted motorsports of all types since
the early 1900s. Race organizer Hearn is also
the track’s all-time winner, with 295 feature
race victories and 23 track point championships
to his credit.
